If you want to buy a new phone, November is the best month. We are on the verge of Black Friday, but we are already starting to see some offers and, most importantly, price drops. The terminals were put into service at the beginning of the year.

Manufacturers adjust their margins as they sell units, and it amazes me every year to see the brutal price drops experienced by models that were quite exorbitantly priced when they were introduced. I do calculations and the figure is generally fixed: Manufacturers easily reduce their prices by 20% to 30%discount where they still have the profit margin.

One of the phones I have been following for a while is the Samsung Galaxy S23. A mobile phone with a crazy launch price in my opinion: 959 euros for the simplest Galaxy S. Without the Black Friday offer, we can now buy it for 654 euros as its price has dropped throughout the year. we are talking about something 31.8% discount compared to official price.

The discount on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is even bigger. We are talking about a retail price of 1,499 euros, which has now dropped below 1,000,999 euros. a decrease 33.36%A barbaric figure for a phone with these features.

The same goes for OnePlus, which has reduced the price of the OnePlus 11 from 919 euros to 668 euros, a discount of almost 30%. Honor is doing the same for the Magic5 Pro, whose price has increased from 1,199 euros to 849 euros. Can you guess the discount? A. 29.27%.

The magic number is 30% It is also found in mid-range mobile phones. My reference mid-range device, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+, was released for 499 euros. The new price is 350, a few months after its launch, without Black Friday offers. Exactly the same goes for the Samsung Galaxy A54. It was released at 499 euros, now it has dropped to 359 euros. Practically the same figures as Xiaomi.

All this brings us to the first approach. As the year progresses we are getting closer to the RRP at which manufacturers continue to make a profit but are still very far, perhaps too far, from the initial RRP they offered us. You don’t even need to enter the Black Friday period to benefit from that magical 30% discount that seems to suit big manufacturers.

Mobile phone prices have skyrocketed and there are no signs of the situation reversing. But there will always be offers.
