It is not a fact that the device will be shown at the WWDC conference in June, but it will be presented to the general public no later than the fall. The fact that Apple has shown the device to the board may indicate that the device is at least operational and ready to enter the market.

New device – new process

The hardware of the future product is completely ready and now Apple is finalizing the operating system and major applications to be compatible with iOS. For the headset to use iPhone as the primary device, mutual compatibility is required. The smartphone will process some of the content and the headset will act as an output device.

When the device became available, Apple stepped up its efforts to create a Reality OS or rOS operating system for virtual and augmented reality devices. With the presentation progress in the development of rOS, work on the product is nearing completion and potential users will be able to see the Apple headset in the coming months and it is expected to go on sale in 2023.

Apple’s new flagship

Headphones that Apple is working on more than five yearsIt should be the company’s next flagship and the first serious attempt to create a new product after the 2015 Apple Watch. The emergence of the VR/AR headset will kick off Apple’s rivalry with the Meta and the still dominating Oculus headset.

Apple has been working on headphones for a long time

Recently, there was information that Apple started creating AR/VR headsets in 2015. The first prototypes were incredibly heavy, and some even ran on Windows. Finally, after the new direction was finally decided, a long work began on a new device that we could see very soon.
