Samsung continues to release security updates for its devices even after the recent launch of the Galaxy S24. The Galaxy A73, whose January 2024 patch is already available in Europe, is the latest recipient. The update, identified as firmware version A736BXXS6DXA1 and weighing less than 500MB, is now available in Turkey and is expected to reach Europe in the next few days. The update is expected to roll out to other regions soon.

This update improves the overall security of your Galaxy A73 by fixing more than 75 vulnerabilities found in the previous firmware. Galaxy A73 owners can check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update and tapping on Download and Install.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy A73 smartphone in early 2022. It initially shipped with Android 12 and Samsung has committed to providing four years of Android updates for it. The phone, which has already received Android 13 and 14 updates, is expected to receive Android 15 and 16 updates in the future.

Features of Samsung Galaxy A73

Samsung Galaxy A73 5G has a 6.7-inch Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This is a punch-hole panel with Full-HD+ resolution. The screen can also double as a built-in fingerprint scanner for added security.

The device has a quad camera system consisting of a 108 MP main lens with f / 1.8 aperture, a 12 MP ultra-wide lens with f / 2.2 aperture, a 5 MP macro sensor and finally a 5 MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 32 megapixel selfie camera.

Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor paired with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB internal storage. It is equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging technology. It has stereo speakers with AKG sound. It also has an IP67 waterproof rating to protect against splashes.
