According to rumors, Samsung will add a new foldable smartphone to its product range in 2024. Initially, there were rumors of a budget version alongside the standard Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 models. But a recent leak from a reliable source suggests a different plan.
According to the report WinFutureSamsung is actually working on launching the premium Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra as well as the regular Z Fold 6. This would create a similar gap in Samsung’s foldable lineup as it currently has in its flagship S series. In other words, in addition to the standard model of the device, there will also be an advanced version under the Ultra brand.
What if I told you that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Q6) was the “cheap” new foldable device and that a new “Ultra” (Q6A) model was coming soon? That’s what I hear on the streets of Barcelona. #MWC24https://t.co/fNesmk1C0Y

Details on exactly how different the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra is from the regular Z Fold 6 remain unclear at this time. However, the report mentions potential differences in screen size, memory configuration, stylus integration, camera settings and battery options.
Industry insider Ross Young also confirmed the differences between the two models in terms of pen support. So it’s likely that the Ultra model will support the S Pen, but the standard Fold 6 does not.
While previous speculations pointed to an affordable model without S Pen support, this new leak suggests a change, with the Ultra likely becoming an S Pen compatible device.
There is currently no concrete information on the finer details of this potential “Ultra” model. But it’s clear that Samsung is looking for ways to expand its advanced device offerings and satisfy a more demanding consumer segment.
It will be interesting to see what strategies Samsung plans to implement to stand out from the mainstream with its rumored Ultra model. It would also be logical to expect a higher price, considering that the Ultra model will likely have upgraded specifications.
