Meizu is afraid of switching entirely to the development of some artificial intelligence systems instead of smartphones, but the company is not done with traditional mobile devices yet. Meizu 21 Pro was unveiled today, based on its features, it seems to be a direct rival of Samsung Gakaxy S24 Plus.
Meizu 21 Pro received a large BOE screen with a diagonal of 6.79 inches, 2K resolution, 120 Hz frame rate and 2160 Hz PWM frequency. The hardware platform SoC is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the maximum amount of memory is 16 GB RAM and 1 TB flash memory. An evaporation chamber with an area of 4651 mm2 is responsible for cooling the SoC.
The main camera with the resolution of the sensors almost completely repeats the Galaxy S24 Plus, but the modules themselves are naturally different. It mainly uses a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50H 1/1.3-inch optical format sensor, wide-angle lens and OIS system. A 13-megapixel sensor is used in the module with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10-megapixel sensor is used in the module with a telephoto lens that provides 3x optical zoom.
In terms of power subsystem, Meizu 21 Pro is superior to Galaxy S24 Plus: the battery capacity is not much different (5050 mAh and 4900 mAh in the Samsung smartphone), but the charging power is much higher: 80 W wired and 50 W wireless.
Meizu 21 Pro has been given a powerful vibration engine, under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers. But the most important is the new Meizu Flyme 10.5 shell with artificial intelligence functions. For example, a smartphone can provide search summaries, recognize text in a photo, remove objects from a photo, extract quotes from long articles. Overall, it does pretty much the same thing as the AI on the Galaxy S24. But all these functions have not yet been implemented: the open beta version of the firmware with the help of AI will be released on March 4 (sales of the smartphone will start on March 2).
Prices are as follows: 12/256GB – $695, 16/512GB – $750, 16GB/1TB – $820.
