Vivo introduced the V40 SE 5G, as well as its foldable flagships X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro. However, unlike its more expensive siblings, the V40 SE is aimed at the mid-range market. Vivo has not announced its official price yet. Currently available in Austria and European regions, the listing reveals that the phone will be the official smartphone of Euro 2024.

The V40 SE 5G features a large 6.67-inch Ultra Vision AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels, 120 Hz refresh rate, and up to 1200 nits of brightness. For HDR content, it can reach 1800 nits. This should ensure excellent readability even on brightly lit streets. The display covers DCI-P3 color gamut for vibrant colours. As for the dimensions, it measures 158.3×73.1×7.79mm and weighs 185.5g.

Essentially, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, and although it is not a top-notch processor, it handles daily tasks and light gaming just fine. The phone is equipped with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 memory, which can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card. Out of the box, the device runs on Funtouch OS 14 based on the latest version of Android 14.

On the back, you’ll find a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP secondary sensor. For selfies, the front camera is 16 MP. The V40 SE has a decent 5000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. It can charge the device up to 50% in approximately 24.5 minutes. Additionally, it features Smart Charging Engine 2.0 and Night Charging Protection for longer battery life and safety.

The phone is available in two colors: Crystal Black with a composite plastic back and Leather Purple with a vegan leather back. Both models have an in-display fingerprint sensor and an IP54 dust and water resistance rating.
