As previously reported, HMD Global is working on a new smartphone called HMD Skyline. Images of this new device were leaked earlier this month, showing a design inspired by the Nokia Lumia 920. With all this, the smartphone has now been spotted on Geekbench and details about its inner workings have been revealed.
According to the Geekbench listing, the smartphone comes with a motherboard codenamed ‘Tomcat’ with 8GB of RAM, as well as an eight-core processor with 4 cores clocked at 1.96GHz and the other four at 2.40 GHz. According to these details, the processor is expected to be Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
Apart from the processor, the Geekbench listing confirms that the device will be launched with Android 14. Talking about performance, it scores 1027 points in the single-core test and 2857 points in the multi-core test. Unfortunately, there is no additional information about the device in the Geekbench listing. Fortunately, some features had been leaked before.
According to a previous report, HMD Skyline will feature an FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor. In terms of optics, the device is said to launch with a 108MP primary camera paired with an ultra-wide-angle camera and a third lens that could be a macro or depth sensor. It is said that there is a 32 MP selfie camera on the front.
The device is said to be powered by a 4,900mAh battery coupled with 33W fast charging. The device is said to have stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint sensor and IP67 water and dust protection. Although the price has not been confirmed, rumors suggest that the price of the model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage could be around €520. We will have to wait and see if these leaks turn out to be true as reports suggest that the brand is planning to launch the Skyline in July.
