Xiaomi introduced its powerful new camera in India this year and now it has been updated with a new portrait effect and camera optimization. This update weighs 272MB and is currently rolling out.
Xiaomi’s India representative Sandeep Sarma announced the new update on Twitter, highlighting the new portrait effect. With this update, users will now be able to shoot in portrait mode with a 120mm lens. You can also change the standard focal length.
The focal length of the main camera is 23mm, but with this new update you can also set the default focal length to 28mm or 35mm. If you think this is just a gimmick, think again. Most smartphone cameras really struggle with image distortion at the edges, but with a focal length of 35mm you can get a new look without sacrificing too much quality, even if you have to move a little further away from your subject. There are also improvements to Portrait mode, which offers two different options: Main Portrait and Leica Portrait.
The update comes with version number 1.0.7.0.UNAINXM and is currently rolling out. If you haven’t received it on your device yet, please be patient as the update will be released in phases.
