Earlier, several insiders said that Apple will have to transfer the iPhone 15 to the USB-C connector in 2024, thanks to the decision of the European Union. But LeaksApplePro claims that Lightning won’t give up. According to the source, the iPhone 15 series will use two connectors: Lightning and USB-C.

The iPhone 15 and possibly the iPhone 15 Max will get a Lightning connector. And older models, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, will be ported to USB-C. Similarly, this year, the transition to new types of iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max screens and the protection of explosions in iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max are expected.

After the iPhone 15 series, the Lightning connector will go down in history again. iPhone 16 smartphones will use a USB-C connector, but it’s possible that the iPhone 16 Pro will drop the charging connector and switch to wireless charging.

Previously, representatives of the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament decided that from the autumn of 2024, USB-C will become a common charging port for all electronic devices in the region. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro displays will begin shipping in June, and larger panels for the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max will ship in July. The introduction of the iPhone 14 is expected in September, new images have emerged today.
