Other innovations include a 4TB SanDisk microSDUC UHS-I memory card. It’s worth noting that both cards offer write speeds of up to 100MB/s, making them ideal for use in smartphones, gaming devices, drones, cameras, and laptops.

  • In addition to its record-breaking SD cards, Western Digital also introduced the SanDisk 16TB desktop drive, which doubles the capacity of the company’s previous largest external SSD.
  • A portable version of this drive is also in development, which is expected to complement the SanDisk Extreme Portable series.

Western Digital has introduced a variety of advanced storage technologies designed to meet the needs of data-intensive environments for enterprise customers. These include:

  • BiCS8 Memory: High-speed memory designed for next-generation applications.
  • NVMe PCIe 5.0 drives: Focused on the mass market, especially on computers with artificial intelligence.
  • 128 TB capacity solid state drive: This 8th generation NAND QLC solid state drive is designed for artificial intelligence systems and applications requiring large storage capacity.
  • 32TB ePMR SMR hard drive: Another mass storage solution introduced at the event.
  • RapidFlex adapter: Converts PCIe signals to Ethernet and can be used on the OpenFlex Data24 4200 NVMe-oF platform.

Market availability

While these innovations are a well-known advancement in storage technology, Western Digital has yet to announce pricing and release dates for its consumer SSD cards. Those details are expected to emerge in the near future as the company continues to push the boundaries of data storage capabilities.
