The Google Pixel Watch 3 looks exactly the same as last year’s model, except that we now have two models with 41 and 45 millimeter screens. In 2024, software and hardware changes will be the main changes.

• You’ll notice the bezels are smaller (about 16%) when the display is turned up. Compared to the previous generation, that’s 10% more screen on the 41mm watch and 40% more screen on the 45mm watch.
• There are new watch faces that take up more space, and apps can display more content.
• The watch is protected by 3D Gorilla Glass 5 and its casing is also made from 100% recycled aluminum.
• The Pixel Watch 3 has an Actua-branded display with a brightness of up to 2,000 nits, which we can also see on the company’s phones.
• It has an AMOLED LTPO display with 320 PPI resolution and DCI-P3 color in both sizes. There is also a dynamic refresh rate that can be adjusted from 1-60Hz for better responsiveness and power efficiency.

• The 41mm device has a standard 306mAh battery, while the 45mm device has a 420mAh battery. Battery life is unchanged and is up to 24 hours with the screen always on, and up to 36 hours in battery saver mode.
• The Pixel Watch 3 uses the same USB-C fast-charging cable that was introduced last year, which charges 20% faster than last year’s 41mm watch.
• The charging screen has been redesigned to show how much time is left to 100% and any alarms.
• Pixel Watch 3 uses the same chip Qualcomm SW5100 With Cortex M33 coprocessor, 2 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of permanent memory.
• There’s now Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz and Bluetooth 5.3 with 5GHz, as well as 4G LTE and NFC.
• New in terms of communication is Ultra Wideband (UWB) for advanced watch unlocking and digital car keys (BMW and MINI).
• The 41mm Pixel Watch 2 and 3 are the same thickness (12.3mm) and weigh 31 grams (without the strap). The 45mm Pixel Watch 3 is also 12.3mm thick but weighs 37 grams.

Health functions

• A big focus of the Pixel Watch 3 is what Google calls its “advanced running capabilities.” The workout designer lets you create running programs where you can set target pace, heart rate, duration, distance, and reps, as well as warm-up and recovery timing.
• You can also view your heart rate on supported exercise machines.
• As you run, you get real-time guidance via beeps and haptic feedback on your wrist to ensure you’re on the right track.
• Heart rate tracking while running has also become more accurate.
• Pixel Watch 3 can use advanced motion sensors and machine learning to track your form and provide detailed breakdowns of steps, stride length/height, ground contact time, and more.

• One welcome change to the workout interface is the ability to swipe to control Wear OS multimedia elements.
• The Fitbit app also features a new dashboard for analyzing workouts, combined with a more personalized daily fitness score (resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and recent sleep) and a heart rate tracker that shows the state of your heart (load + intensity).
• The Morning Summary feature on the watch shows you that readiness score, a personalized training target load, how you’re sleeping, health indicators, goal progress, and even the weather.
• When you’re done with your day’s work Google can automatically detect when you’re asleep to enable sleep modedisables notifications and AOD.
• Finally, there is a loss of pulse detection feature that can contact emergency services.

Software

As for new software, there’s a new Pixel Recorder app, and updates include the Google TV Remote Tile, which lets you pause media, change channels, and adjust volume. Google Home will also show live feeds from cameras that you can interact with.

Additionally, there is an expanded call screen that allows you to pick up the phone or ask to wait, a more functional interface of the Pixel Camera app, and offline Google Maps with your route during training.

Accessibility

• The cost of the Google Pixel Watch 3 with a 41mm screen $349 For a model with Wi-Fi support and $449 For a model with LTE support. Available in matte black, polished silver and champagne gold.
• Pixel Watch 3 45mm Wi-Fi version costs $399and with LTE support – $499Instead of gold, you get a brushed walnut aluminum body with a slight green tint.

There are different strap colors to choose from.

Pre-orders for the Pixel Watch 3 began yesterday, August 13, with shipping starting on September 10.
