Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim launch nears

Starting from 2019, SAMSUNG has been consistently releasing a complex book-style device every year. Now, the company is expected to expand its lineup with the second book-style foldable device in the sixth-generation series. Galaxy Z Fold 6 Thin.

In recent news, a Samsung device with the model number SM-F958N has been spotted on the certification platform of the Korea Chemical Industry Research Institute (KTR). This model number is very similar to the SM-F956N Galaxy Z Fold 6suggests that this could be the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim. This certification suggests that the device will be available in South Korea.

According to reports from South Korea, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim could be launched in the country on September 25. It could also be launched in China as the Samsung Galaxy W25, competing with upcoming foldable smartphones from brands like Huawei and Honor. Its availability in the US and other markets remains unclear.

As the name suggests, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim is expected to be a thinner version of the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 6. It’s likely to be Samsung’s thinnest foldable device to date, though it won’t be as thin as the Honor Magic V3. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim is said to be 10mm when closed, while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to be 12.1mm.

Report claims Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim doesn’t support S Pen

To achieve this reduced thickness, Samsung has reportedly removed the S Pen compartment and the 0.3mm digitizing film required for the S Pen to work. While other manufacturers have managed to reduce the thickness without compromising on features, this move is perhaps intended to further differentiate the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim from its sibling, the Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, this is still a rumor and readers should take this information with a pinch of salt.
