The second is a number of key technologies presented in the tape and in Elon Musk’s update. I, Robot director Alex Proyas probably saw the comparison meme or watched the presentation and came up with the idea himself. Futurism, no matter what, writes on social networks that he very quickly became the head of the Tesla company.

In the accompanying image, images from the film are placed next to mock-ups of future Tesla products, as if to imply that we are heading towards the menacing future that was shown to us on screen 20 years ago.

While nothing Tesla has shown is an exact copy, we can see a lot in common with the Cybercab robotax and even the Robovan van. They have similar shapes, both technologies are unmanned, and there are some similarities in design details.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Tesla has been accused of using someone else’s ideas. After the Cybertruck was introduced in 2019, people online pointed out the vehicle’s similarity to the design of the car in Paul Verhoeven’s science fiction film Total Memory, which showed us a settled colony on Mars.

This is hardly a coincidence, given Musk’s obsession with colonizing Mars and his claims that the Cybertruck can survive on any planet. But many people on the network don’t see this as a negative thing. On the contrary, commentators point out that Musk embodies the best ideas for the future.
