Samsung launches eSIM support for Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3

eSIM is definitely getting more and more popular every day. It would be fair to say that OEMs will soon replace physical SIM cards with electronic SIM cards. But there is still time for this, and most smartphones do not support eSim, even with a standard SIM card. Advanced devices from Samsung are no exception. But the South Korean tech giant is fixing this by supporting eSIM and Dual SIM, Dual Standby (DSDS) for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the US.

Samsung released a security update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 in June 2022. The latest security update has been released around the world, including the United States and Europe. The update provides eSIM support, new camera features, and security fixes for US versions of folding devices.

In the US, the update is available for T-Mobile Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 smartphones with software versions F926USQU1DVEE and F711USQU2DVEE respectively. Unlocked models also have eSIM capabilities. The versions for unlocked models are marked F926U1UEU1DVEE and F711U1UEU2DVEE for Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3.

ESIM support provides the functionality of two SIM cards, so Galaxy Z Fold3 and Flip3 users can now have one physical SIM card and one eSIM working simultaneously via DSDS. As mentioned earlier, the new updates also include many camera features found in the Galaxy S22 series. It’s worth noting that updates are rolled out in stages, so it can take a few days or a week to reach each device.
