Motorola’s is constantly expanding its smartphone lineup, and the latest certifications point to an upcoming release Moto G Power 5G (2025). Building on the success of its predecessor, the Moto G Power 5G (2024), which was released only in North America, this new model is expected to launch with an extended regional launch in the coming months. Here’s what certification listings and the latest patents reveal about the future of smartphone releases. Motorola’s.
1. Design Moto G Power 5G (2025)
Leaked images from August showed a familiar design for the Moto G Power 5G (2025). On the back of the device, it is expected to have a square camera module with LED flash and Motorola’s signature notch. The volume rocker and power button will be located on the right edge. The front panel of the device will have a center hole with flat edges and very thin bezels for the selfie camera. The renders show the phone in an attractive purple colour, which may appeal to users looking for a stylish mid-range option.
2. Certificate details
Moto G Power 5G (2025) recently appeared on various certification platforms, including FCC, TUV Rheinland, and UL Demko. According to the FCC listing, this device will have the model number XT2515-1 and will have additional regional variants labeled XT2515-2, XT2515-3, and XT2515V. These models are probably designed for different markets, but certifications confirm that there are no noticeable differences between them in terms of technical characteristics. While the Moto G Power 5G (2024) is limited to North American markets, the expanded lineup suggests the 2025 version could target a wider global audience.
3. Battery
The Moto G Power 5G (2025) will feature a battery model labeled RW50 with a nominal capacity of 4,850 mAh (typically 5,000 mAh), the same as its predecessor. While the capacity remains the same, Motorola could introduce a more efficient chipset to potentially improve overall battery performance. This improvement can extend usage time without needing a larger battery.

4. Connection and charging
The FCC listing confirms a wide range of connectivity features, including 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth BR/EDR/LE, and NFC support. The device is also expected to support GNSS, FM radio and wireless power transfer (WPT).
Speaking of charging, Demko’s UL certification lists a 20W charger for the Moto G Power 5G (2025). Although the 30W wired charging supported by the 2024 model is a little slower, the 2025 version maintains wireless charging support. This makes the device versatile and offers convenient wired and wireless charging options, but it may seem modest for users who need 20W ultra-fast charging.
5. Motorola’s moving screen patent
Motorola pushes the limits with its innovative technology as well as the Moto G series. A recent patent application reveals the concept of a smartphone with a foldable display with a built-in full-screen fingerprint sensor. This new patent is based on the Moto Rizr concept mobile phone, which was introduced in 2023 and has a flexible screen that can expand from 5 inches to 6.5 inches. Now Motorola aims to improve the user experience with an all-screen fingerprint sensor that allows users to unlock the device from anywhere on the screen.
This patent demonstrates Motorola’s commitment to developing devices that combine convenience and flexibility. While there’s no guarantee the concept will launch anytime soon, the ability to fold the phone with a full-screen fingerprint scanner underscores Motorola’s commitment to innovative design.
