Almost every new Tesla car has experienced a malfunction in the on-board computer

Tesla, often referred to as a “device on wheels” due to its heavy reliance on software and on-board computers, is reportedly currently facing a major technical problem 24 Channels. According to data ElectrekThe company’s new electric vehicles equipped with the AI4.1 on-board computer system suddenly began to malfunction.

The problem appears to be related to a short circuit, and initial suspicions point to a low-voltage battery being the culprit. The short circuit is believed to have occurred during the calibration process of one of the onboard cameras.

The consequences of a malfunction of the on-board computer are very serious.. Drivers lose access to critical Tesla features such as:

  • advanced driver assistance,
  • fully autonomous driving (FSD) capabilities,
  • GPS navigation,
  • the ability to estimate the distance of the journey.

The latter function is extremely important in regions with limited charging infrastructure.

Despite the growing number of complaints, Tesla has yet to issue an official service bulletin regarding the fault. But service centers began to planWarranty replacement of computers for January 2025.

Staff have reportedly been instructed to reassure customers that vehicles remain roadworthy despite these faults.

Tesla has yet to publicly comment on the defect or issue for affected customers. As the number of complaints increases, the company’s next steps will be closely watched by both regulators and consumers.
