ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Aerospace Edition design details revealed ahead of launch

The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra, a new model in the flagship smartphone series, is about to be presented in the company’s domestic market in China. Before the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Aerospace Edition launches next week, some details about the phone have surfaced. In a new promotional poster released by the company, ZTE showed off the design of the upcoming flagship smartphone and also detailed some of the processors of the design.

Lu Qianhao, head of ZTE’s mobile marketing department, said that the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Aerospace Edition will use the next-generation HT Xuanjing ceramic material and use the leading integrated nanowire casting process for the texture of the device.

On the front, it has been confirmed that the smartphone will feature the third-generation under-display camera technology also found in the Axon 40 Ultra. We expect the phone to have similar specs to the 40 Ultra, except for storage that will be upgraded to 18GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Introduced a few months ago, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra features a 6.81-inch AMOLED display with 2480×1116 pixels Full HD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint sensor. The camera department also has a 16-megapixel under-display camera with 2.24μm large pixels and uses ZTE’s third-generation under-display camera. At the back, there is a triple camera setup consisting of a 64MP Sony IMX787 primary sensor, a 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens.

The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and has a dual-channel VC liquid cooling system. The smartphone runs Android 12 with the company’s built-in MyOS 12 and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
