Create’s Fryer Air review: Small but tough

Air fryers are all the rage, that’s for sure. And more with the fit trend that has been flooding social networks in recent months and almost years. Gone is cooking in the oven or deep fryer. The success of these fryers is that the hot air allows you to fry without oil, giving you the same crispy result in a clean, healthy and smoke-free way. To follow this trend, especially for those without a 40m2 kitchen, comes the Fryer Air from Create.

The Spanish brand Create was born with a simple goal: to combine functionality and beauty. And they have been doing it since its birth in 2019. Although they are a young company, they have established a place in many households with a wide range of practical products and careful design. The Air fryer is part of the Create flavors range, a collection of items that revolve around cooking and, as the name suggests, flavour.

But let’s go back to the Fryer Air, which we had the opportunity to test. It is a 1.5 liter deep fryer, one of the most compact on the market. Ideal for those of us who don’t need to cook for a lot of people and also don’t have much space for additional accumulation of appliances. Although, of course, we will make a hole in it.

Fryer Air Specifications

cooking temperature 80° – 200°

Management Electronic / Digital
Frequency 50-60 Hz
Dimensions 257 x 211 x 276 mm

Mass 2.7 kg
Strain 220~240V AC

When we open the box, we find a relatively compact device, similar to what we are used to seeing in a deep fryer, and with a more cylindrical line, according to its circular tray. It has a capacity of 1.5 l, for approximately 2 servings.

On the front side we find the handle of the basket, if we open it we will see a basket with a capacity of 1.5 l, in which we can cook, among many other things, about 300 g of potatoes (measure that Create in their website, and this is quite close to practice in our experience ).

It is true that in some cases the basket may be too small, but we must not forget the type of product we are testing. We cannot expect a large capacity from such a compact appliance.

Inside we find a tray that allows us to keep the ingredients separated from any fat that may have accumulated at the bottom of the basket.

Its cleaning is very simple. The exterior of the Air Fryer can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, and both the basket and tray (which is our real concern) are dishwasher safe. Hallelujah.

A detail to mention here is that the magazine doesn’t close as well as it should, and sometimes I found myself having to adjust the mechanism a bit to make sure it was 100% closed. We don’t want a bit of our air to escape.

Digital screen

In the upper part we find an LCD display on which we can control the temperature (between 80 and 200º C) and the cooking time. In addition, thanks to the pause button, we can stop cooking and, if necessary, continue it, for example, stir the fries so that they are evenly cooked. A very important step as the small size of the tray makes it easy for ingredients like this to become uneven.

After a few uses, we can see that its simplicity translates into a very intuitive control, but it delivers the expected results. A device that you don’t have to study the manual for beforehand or learn by trial and error is always appreciated.

In addition to the obvious use as a deep fryer, the Fryer Air also functions as a compact oven in which we can prepare some pastries (not too demanding) or add a touch of au gratin to some dishes. In fact, we can find baking times for pies or quiches in the instructions.

More recipes on the website and in the app

Although in the instructions included with the Air fryer (also available in online format on the Create website), there is a practical table with cooking times and temperatures, where we can find the largest number of interesting recipes, in the application and on the brand’s website. There, for example, we can filter by type of dish, diet, author, type of food, ingredients, etc. Very practical for entering the world.

However, it should be noted that Fryer Air recipes are a bit difficult to find in a cursory search, as most are made for other brands of equipment such as Fryer Air Pro or Fryer Air Smart.

Of course, you should keep in mind that like an oven, you will need to go through a trial period where you can adjust the times and temperatures to find which are ideal for each recipe.

What is missing is that the fryer is “smart” and has an integrated app where each recipe can be programmed in a simpler and more automated way and less manually. I understand that we are dealing with a compact product and the focus is on making it more affordable and therefore also easier to adapt to a more modified price.

conclusions

Head to our kitchen and join the air fryer craze, this time in a small bottle, with the 1.5l Fritéza Air. This air fryer is compact and ideal for 1 or 2 people, with the basics to let you know if this style of cooking suits us or not. Even though I already have an inkling of it, one way or another it definitely is.

Sometimes we miss more capacity and more advanced specs like an integrated app, but for the price it’s ideal. In addition, it has a very careful design, which is very much appreciated in this house. It is available in four colors: black, white, pastel green and pastel pink.

Right now, the Create Air Fryer is 25% off in the official Create store and can be purchased for €44.95.
