Motorola launched the affordable Moto G53 in China earlier this month alongside its flagship Moto X40. A global version of the phone is also expected to be released soon, but it could be very different from its Chinese counterpart in terms of specs and design. The report suggests that the device will have a completely different display and processor. Also, the leak reveals that the design of the smartphone will also be different. Let’s take a closer look at the details.
The global Moto G53 reportedly comes with a new Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 480+ chip seen in the Chinese version. SD 4 Gen 1 is Qualcomm’s latest 6nm processor for next-generation 5G budget phones.
The smartphone may also have a better display. It may have a 6.6-inch OLED panel that offers FHD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. The Chinese Mote G53 is equipped with a 6.5-inch LCD panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. The device is said to have up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The Moto G53 debuted in China with a dual rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary camera sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. However, the global version is said to have three cameras on the back: a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro unit. There may be a 16MP sensor on the front for selfies.
With a 5000mAh battery, the phone can support turbo charging. In terms of software, the device is likely to run Android 13 with the MyUI skin on top. The price of the Global Moto G53 is not yet known. For reference, the Chinese version costs RMB 899 (~$129) for the 4GB + 128GB base version.
