Hisense has introduced a new mid-range Hi Reader Pro smartphone with e-ink display. The novelty is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent storage. However, the Hi Reader Pro has a 6.1-inch E Ink display with a black and white display instead of a classic LCD or AMOLED display.
This display supports 16 shades of gray and its frequency is significantly lower than LCD displays. At the same time, the novelty costs less than $250 per order. Other features include a 4,000mAh battery, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 support, dual microphones, and Android 11.
It is noteworthy that the company has a Hisense Hi Reader device, and it is not a smartphone but only a reader with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is still unclear why the company combined two practically different classes of devices into one line. Nothing has yet been announced about the launch timing of the new product in China and the global market.
