Apple has patented a series of future sensors for smartphones that can be placed anywhere under the screen and use eye and motion tracking. As Patently Apple wrote with reference to the documentation, the patents describe a further development scenario for the Dynamic Island notch.
The screen can be located along the top edge of the screen, in the corner of the screen, in a middle along the top edge, etc. may contain transparent portions with one or more sub-sensors throughout. Excerpt from the patent description
Apple’s patent is not limited to the iPhone. Apple says the invention could be applied to Mac computers, iPads, the Apple Watch, mixed reality glasses and headsets of the future, projection screens in cars, and much more.
According to the Apple patent, the sensors under the screen include Touch ID sensors, sensors to measure three-dimensional non-contact movements (“air motions”), pressure sensors, sensors to determine position, direction, and/or motion (for example, accelerometer, magnetic sensor, compass, gyroscope). ), health sensors and much more.
Under-display sensors may also include optical sensors, laser rangefinders, humidity sensors, gaze tracking sensors and/or other models.
