As Apple prepares to launch the iPhone 15 this year, exclusive images of the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro have surfaced and are a sight to behold. Based on a CAD model provided by a trusted case maker and 3D artist, these visualizations give us a glimpse of Apple’s upcoming flagship device. CAD files similar to those used to create these renders are supplied by Apple to factories in Asia to prepare the phone cases prior to release. This ensures that the cases are available to consumers when the device is released.

What’s up? As mentioned earlier, we say goodbye to Apple’s proprietary Lightning port and hello to USB-C. The change marks a major shift in iPhone design and functionality thanks to pressure from the European Union pushing for a common charging standard for all smartphones and devices.

But that’s not all. The iPhone 15 Pro has undergone significant changes in design. According to the renders, the curvature of the edges on both the glass and metal frame has been updated to provide a smoother transition to the frame. This can make the phone more comfortable to hold and less prone to accidental touches.

The rear camera bump is also thicker than before, suggesting that Apple may have updated its camera system with new sensors or lenses. The camera layout remains the same as the iPhone 14 Pro, with three lenses housed in a square module and a LiDAR scanner. Camera lenses of this generation point to thicker, possibly larger image sensors.

There are also changes to the volume buttons and mute switches. The volume rocker looks capacitive, not physical, as previously assumed. The mute switch looks updated with a smaller and more rounded shape similar to the shape of the capacitive buttons.

Although we cannot say for sure, the resolution of the iPhone 15 Pro is expected to be similar to the iPhone 14 Pro. The body of the device is slightly smaller with thinner bezels, so we’re likely to see the same 6.1-inch or slightly larger screen in a smaller body. Dynamic Island is still available and looks roughly the same size as the iPhone 14 Pro.

Of course, these visualizations are based on an old CAD model and may not reflect all aspects of Apple’s final design. But they do give us an idea of what we can expect from one of the most anticipated smartphones this year. With a more ergonomic frame, updated camera system and USB-C, the iPhone 15 Pro will definitely make waves in the smartphone industry.
