The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the tech giant’s latest flagship device. While some may be disappointed by the design similarities with its predecessor, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung has made some really impressive improvements. While the camera setup and design have been overhauled this year, one of the biggest changes is the hassle-free battery removal, a feature many tech enthusiasts have been waiting for.

YouTuber Zach of JerryRigEverything tested the Galaxy S23 Ultra and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to take the device apart with one hand. In the past, removing the battery from a smartphone was a difficult task because manufacturers used a lot of glue to hold the battery in the case. This meant that professionals and novices alike had to use a variety of tools and alcohol to soften the glue and carefully remove it without damaging the battery.

However, Samsung has made this process much easier with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Just remove the windshield, wireless charging coil, screws and ribbon cables and the 5000mAh battery can be easily accessed and removed in seconds. Zach said in his video that even non-professionals can easily remove the battery.

While Zach nearly ripped the ribbon cable off and there was a slight mishap with the disassembly process, he said it was worth the wait for Samsung to implement the change. He even stated that he has waited eight long years for Samsung to make this small but important development. However, the availability of retractable tabs on the cheaper Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus models gives hope that Samsung will standardize the feature on all of its smartphones, including the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. which will be released this year
