Last year, Apple released the iPhone 14 Pro. Compared to its predecessor, Dynamic Island has received significant updates, including new features such as Satellite Emergency SOS and Crash Detection. The smartphone has won two Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO) announced by the GSMA at MWC 2023.

iPhone 14 Pro won the Best Smartphone award, surpassing Google Pixel 7 Pro, Nothing Phone (1), Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4, which were also considered as contenders for the award. The Cupertino-based tech giant won another Breakthrough Innovation Device award for its groundbreaking satellite emergency calling feature on the iPhone 14 Pro models. This allows device users to send emergency alerts to remote locations without cellular coverage without any special equipment. In the innovative device category, Google’s Tensor 2 chip, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon and Sony’s IMX989 camera sensor were also evaluated for the award.

GSMA notes “The Best Smartphone award combines outstanding performance, innovation and leadership, as determined by the world’s leading independent analysts, journalists and influencers based on the evaluation of smartphones in the market between January 2022 and December 2022.”
