Samsung is ready to take its flagship smartphone game to the next level with the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra. The South Korean tech giant is reportedly planning to introduce a 144Hz display on its flagship device next year, making it the first Galaxy device with such a high refresh rate.

The 144Hz display will offer smoother animations, especially for gamers, and will be able to handle more and faster screen loads while maintaining high performance. Smartphone screens with higher refresh rates have become more common in recent years, and some devices even have refresh rates of up to 240 Hz.

According to recent reports, the Galaxy S24 series may have satellite connectivity similar to what Apple and Huawei are currently offering. Although Samsung has not yet added this feature to its mobile lineup, the company’s MX (Mobile Experience) head stated that they are actively evaluating this feature.

In addition to these potential features, the Galaxy S24 series is expected to be powered by an unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC that could offer significantly improved performance over the previous generation. The high-performance X4 processor core is said to run up to 15% faster than the overclocked X-3 core used in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, bringing even more performance to the 2024 flagship series.

Camera improvements for the Galaxy S24 Ultra are also among the rumors, with an improved 200 MP image sensor for the main camera and advanced zoom features for the telephoto camera.
