Earlier on Xataka, we talked about the various ways to calibrate our television and get the most out of it. no doubt about it one of the best ways to improve the image quality of our panelWe leave it to our taste. With the arrival of the next generation of consoles, this has become even more important as it is a way to enjoy all of our games to the fullest.

Although there are numerous tools to calibrate our television or monitor, the latest Microsoft consoles also A native option to adjust the display parameters of our TV. This option is located in the configuration section of the console and through various patterns we can change properties such as brightness, contrast, color and more.

How to calibrate TV with Xbox Series X/S

To properly calibrate our television using the Xbox Series X or Series S, we need to go to the Configuration section and ‘General’ access option ‘TV and display options’. Now here you just have to choose where it’s written ‘calibrate TV’.

Before we begin, the tool offers us a number of recommendations for best calibrating the TV:

  • Plug in the console HDMI input that gives us the best performanceHDMI 2.1, 2.0, eARC etc.

  • To identify The best resolution supported by the TV. We can do this through ‘TV and display options’ From the Xbox settings menu.

  • we have to make sure we have ordinary lighting which we are playing with.

  • Leave the TV on for about 5 minutes to prepare.

After that the console will start showing us a set of patterns to serve as a guide for the configuration of our television. The first of these, ‘Aspect ratio and clarity’. Here we have to make sure that the image does not eat any borders and displays everything exactly aligned to the size of our panel. As for sharpness, we should adjust it by reducing as much as we can without blurring.

After the aspect ratio and sharpness are configured, we need to change the brightness, black level in HDMI, gamma and backlight level of the panel. To adjust the brightness we will just have to increase it to the maximum and then start going down until the eye is no longer on the screen.

Depending on the configuration, gamma should be left at 2.2 or 2.0. HDMI range should be left auto, high, or full. And as for the backlight, change it until you get the deepest blacks possible, but without losing all the power of the whites.

Next we need to adjust the contrast. Here we have to adjust this parameter until we can barely see the sun. visible on the right, but still seeing the lower eye. After that, a new pattern will appear to adjust the brightness. Here it is enough to change until the eye disappears.

Finally, we will have Option to change the color of the TV using blue filters or RGB mode. To do this we must activate the blue filter and change the color until the blue and white lines are the same. Same for saturation. With the filter active we need to adjust it until the cyan and magenta lines look the same.

After all parameters are configured we will have our tv ready and calibrated. Although the difference is not miraculous, we will be able to make the most of the games we play on TV.
