I confess: One of the things that has been bothering me the most lately is the electricity bill. We all try to implement tricks or routines to try to save as much as possible, but sometimes this becomes an impossible task (especially during the winter months when a heater or radiator needs to be on). One of the things I use the most to save money use energy saving or ‘Eco’ modesIt is available on almost every device.

Such modes or settings are also available on Samsung displays on both Smart TVs and monitors. In general, when activating or disabling certain options, notifications appear that imply an increase in energy consumption. I’ve always avoided activating a setting if it would mean an increase in the electric bill. But it turned out I was wrong.

Energy saving options will make our TV look worse

Regardless of how we configure it, it is clear that a Smart TV will have. a certain energy consumption (even if the screen is off). In fact, this is something that we should take into consideration before we start buying a television, and that we can easily see when we look at the energy classification labels.

Now some settings may cause the screen to consume more electrical energy. like brightness level. That’s why Samsung televisions and monitors will always inform us if changing a setting means more energy consumption. This way the user can decide before activating whether they want to prevent it from consuming more of their screen.

Because of my desire to save as much money as possible each month, I have avoided making changes that would increase the electricity consumption of my Samsung television or monitor. I never gave much importance to it, I had a savings goal. Now, any statement of this kind, ignored or accepted, led to a result that I did not consider: my screens look much worse.

Any energy saving mode or setting of this type is aimed solely at reducing consumption. This means image quality is secondarySomething that would clearly work against us.

We will see the clearest example of this in the brightness of our screen. Smart TVs have sensors that increase or decrease the brightness according to the lighting, and if we have configured the energy saving mode, we will always have the lowest possible brightness level. In addition to being annoying, this can also cause us to blink constantly.

In short, before us There is a balance to be observed between consumption and image quality.. If we want to enjoy our movies, TV series or video games at their best, the best we can do is not to activate these energy-saving options. In my case, I’d rather pay a little bit each month if it means getting the most out of my screen.
