Google allowed the Pixel series smartphones to be repaired at home, that is, without contacting the service center. This was reported on the company’s blog.

“We want you to have a great experience with your Pixel phone and easy access to high-quality and secure device repair,” the company said. As part of its self-repair program, Google has hired iFixit to sell replacement parts for smartphones.

The IT giant’s experts promised that by the end of 2022, displays, batteries, cameras and other parts will be available for order on the iFixit partner’s website. Spare parts will be sold to consumers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and the European Union. Consumers will be able to purchase individual parts or displays and batteries with a range of gadgets. Users will also receive appropriate instructions.

“We value every new Pixel model for ease of repair so we can reduce the effort, tools, parts and materials used in the repair process,” company officials said. Google emphasized that users can always take a device that needs maintenance to the service center.
