It is getting harder and harder to buy monitors or televisions in particular. the number of certificates we need to attend and this refers to the features of the device. In fact, the box is already surrounded by stickers and logos denoting certain features, now stickers ready to receive a new companion.

VESA, or the same thing, the Video Electronics Standards Association, is close to launching a new certification for LCD displays. If we already know DisplayHDR, DisplayPort… now comes a new one with the name ClearMR. A new brand looking to replace the MPRT (Motion Picture Response Time) metric they claim is getting old over time.

A new label on the boxes

VESA has a new certificate ready under the name ClearMR. designed to measure the blur of images on the screen. A certificate that generates seven different levels of sharpness based on the ratio of clear pixels to those that appear blurry. The goal is to help you know which display offers the sharpest experience.

MPRT used so farAn acronym for Motion Picture Response Time as a system for measuring and qualifying monitor refresh rate and motion blur.

Now with the new certificate, different levels participating in the clarity level of the screen. When the maximum value is set to ClearMR3000 to ClearMR9000, each represents a percentage ratio of bright pixels to blurry pixels. For example, ClearMR9000 refers to a CMR range of more than 8,500% clear pixels versus blurry pixels. ClearMR3000, for its part, states that there are between 2,500% and 3,500% more light pixels than blurry pixels.

However, a new certificate with some shortcomings, Does not support HDR and it only applies to the SDR mode of the monitor.

The new certificate should arrive on the screens (televisions, monitors, laptops or tablets) is coming out, and indeed in the case of HP, Samsung or LG, there are already brands offering LG and Ultragear 4848GQ900, announcing that they will support the new certification to bring it to their screens in the future. , 32GQ850 and 27GP850 models, as well as the HP Omen 25i, meet this standard.
