We often spend too much time tuning our televisions to handle all kinds of audiovisual content. However, televisions are getting smarter and we don’t need that much to get the ideal configuration anymore. Or is it still yes? Well, we’ll agree on one thing; intelligent or automatic tuning is not always correct.

One of the features on my Xiaomi television that could do nothing but drive me crazy was the automatic display switching when playing a certain type of content. And when I played a movie on a streaming platform, the TV even changed its color temperature to HDR mode. Today we teach you How to get rid of this auto setting on Xiaomi Android TV.

How to make Xiaomi TV not change settings automatically

Xiaomi has a wide variety of options to configure in the image and sound section. However, it would be a shame if, after configuring the picture on the TV for a long time, the TV decides to ‘intelligently’ change these settings as it wishes. Fortunately, there is an option where we can disable applying and saving settings even if we change the source..

This option is called ‘Smart change’, and we can find it in the image configuration menu of our Xiaomi television. To access this menu, simply be on an HDMI source, press the button ‘SET’ select on the remote control and ‘Picture’. Already here, we will have to disable the ‘Smart modification’ option.

With this option disabled, we can change the settings on every source we connect to. without changing the TV settings automatically. This will allow us to preserve the color temperature and display mode settings.

Again, this option does not allow us to disable the HDR mode of the television. If we play HDR compatible content this way, the TV will switch to this mode, although the color temperature, brightness, contrast and other settings will be preserved.

This option will also come in handy to avoid problems when connecting the PC or console to the TV via HDMI, because sometimes picture mode doesn’t switch to ‘Game’obtaining a longer-than-expected response time.
