Manufacturers of accessories for smartphones and computers have released the first cables of the USB-C 2.1 standard. This was reported by Tom’s Hardware.

Experts explained that the USB-C 2.1 standard allows you to transfer energy with a record power of 240 watts. For comparison, the current USB-C 2.0 standard is limited to 100 watts. According to journalists, the first manufacturer to release such accessories for smartphones and computers was Club3D.

According to the materials received from the establishment, there are three models in the new generation cables line. The CAC-1573 essential accessory is for charging only. The top of the line model – the CAC-1576 – provides up to 240 watts of power and up to 40 gigabits per second of bandwidth. The device can also transmit a video signal with a resolution of 8K and a frequency of up to 60 Hz.

According to journalists, the power of the new accessories should be enough for the most popular laptops, except for those equipped with the most powerful processors and video cards. The authors noted that there are currently no chargers on the market that can deliver record power. The cost and sales time of the Club3D devices were not disclosed.

The USB Type-C 2.1 specification was presented by the USB Developers Forum (USB-IF) in May 2021.
