When downloading files from the Internet Tired of ad spamThere used to be one or two file sharing platforms that were the saviors of those who were tired of dedicating their lives to waiting times… Now we say goodbye to one of them.
ZippyShare, serving since 2006 with its simple, clean and effortless interface and downloading files when you say “Download,” announced that it will close at the end of March. The explanation is that the platform will be released after five years. in his first blog post took place.
Description shared by ZippyShare:

“We have decided to end the project at the end of this month. Back up your important files, you have about two weeks to do this. Until then, the site will work without any changes.”
Why is ZippShare shutting down? The answer to this question was also in the same blog post:
We’ve been in the market as is since 2006 – ad-supported/free file hosting. However, over the years you come by less and less, because the supposedly simple formula of the services we offer slowly loses strength. I think all the competitive file storage service companies in the market offer better looks, better performance, and more features. No one needs a dinosaur like us anymore.
- All types of ad blocking built into the browser, as add-ons or in the form of DNS services. Sure, we all use them, but they take away all of the site owner’s control over the site. Eventually we get to the point where a vicious cycle starts where you have to put more ads to pay for the server infrastructure, then users run more ad blockers and we get to a point like today.
- Rising electricity prices. Electricity prices have increased 2.5 times in the last year, and this, with a large number of servers, creates a significant increase in costs that we cannot compensate for.
- There are plenty of other little reasons and we could write a book about them, but no one probably wants to read them.
In summary, we can no longer afford to feed the site.
Thank you for staying with us over the years. See you in the depths of the internet. o7
o7 ZippyShare for you too!
