How was the boat found?

Receiving a message from local residents, famous historian Ihor Ignatenko took the initiative to shed light on this intriguing find. Monoxyl boats made from a single tree trunk were an ancient technology of the Slavs. 950 years. However, the exact origin and age of this find remain unclear.

While monoxillas have been around for a long time, experts like Ignatenko emphasize the importance of accurate dating. To better determine the age of the find, it is necessary to conduct radiocarbon analysis or examine potential artifacts inside the boat.

Even if it turns out to be built in the nineteenth or early twentieth century, it remains an invaluable relic of ancient craftsmanship, as such boats are no longer produced.
– said Ignatenko.

While scientists and enthusiasts are waiting for the results of a possible analysis, the fate of the boat is a matter of curiosity.

If restoration proves impossible, Ignatenko suggests covering the boat with earth to prevent destruction. This measure can ensure that a unique find is preserved for future generations to explore and study.
