SpaceX fires a speedrun

To contextualize, yesterday, Thursday, June 16, an open letter from employees SpaceX was released by the site edge. In a letter, officials criticized the statements Elon Musk on Twitter. “all tweet what kind Elon publica is essentially the public statement of the company. It is vital to make it clear to our teams and potential future talent that the messages do not reflect our work, our mission, or our values,” reads an excerpt from the company’s open letter (transform SpaceX a great place to work and transform humanity into a multi-planetary species). Spoiler alert: no – for socializing and a great place to work.

The full letter also asks leaders to denounce the conflicting statements musk in twitter and reinforce the values SpaceX “don’t be *zao” (yes, that’s the value of the company) and “zero tolerance”, the latter aimed at punishing disrespectful and harassing employees. But there is clearly zero tolerance for boss criticism as former employees report that the company’s human resources SpaceX ignored complaints of various types of harassment. The result of the letter: the dismissal of those responsible for it a day after its publication.

SpaceX accuses letter writers of coercing employees

Gwynn Shotwellthe president SpaceX, sent out an e-mail to employees informing them that several of the employees involved in the drafting of the letter had been fired. “The letter, the requests, and the overall process left Jobs confused, intimidated, overwhelmed, or annoyed by pressure to sign a letter that didn’t reflect their point of view,” Shotwell wrote.

For The Verge, an employee involved in drafting the letter said that Shotwell’s email was a sign of executives’ “deafness”. This employee says the letter was the result of “a month of hard work and requests for feedback to try and make sure” that as much information as possible was included. OUR SpaceX has not yet commented on the layoffs.
