Microsoft announced in a blog post that Windows Insiders who choose distribution channels developer and Beta Windows 11 build 22616 can now be downloaded via Windows Update. This build brings little news compared to previous builds and is more focused on fixing bugs.

According to Microsoft, the publication Pro Windows 11 build 22616 is out now Microsoft account and active internet connection required to complete the initial setup of the operating system for personal use, just like with Windows 11 Home. For those who are customizing the operating system for educational or corporate purposes, this is not necessary.

In response to user feedback, Microsoft has once again allowed users to reorder the floating menu icons in the notification area. This feature was available in the initial version of Windows 11, released in October last year, and was disabled in build 22581, released in March of this year:

For PC gamers with an Xbox controller, Windows 11 build 22616 now offers quick access to the last three games played and launchers like Steam and Origin using the new controller pad. To use the new features, you must install Windows 11 Build 22616, which is available to Windows Insiders, and Xbox Insider Hub available in Microsoft Store.

With the Xbox Insider Hub installed, sign in with your Microsoft account, go to the Preview area, and use the option to join Windows Game Preview. Once you’ve done that, go to the Microsoft Store and make sure you’ve updated your Xbox Game Bar to the latest version (5.722.5022.0 or higher) and restart your computer.

When an Xbox controller is connected to a PC, you can call up the controller pad when not playing by pressing the Xbox button on the controller, as shown in the image below. Microsoft indicates that the Winkey + G keyboard shortcut will continue to function normally for bringing up the Xbox Game Bar.

In addition to several of the new features mentioned above, Windows 11 build 22616 contains fixes for several bugs. The list of fixed bugs includes one that reduces the performance and reliability of the process. explorer.exe shows degradation over time, one causes the option to show the floating menu in the notification area to disappear on some PCs, another causes some items containing text to not display correctly in the Windows Sandbox, and another causes Windows Update notifications to appear. as posted from “Windows.SystemToast.WindowsUpdate.MoNotification” instead of “Windows Update“.
