Why is this interesting?

According to State Intelligence Agency experts, the focus of Russian hackers has shifted from unsuccessful attempts to shut down infrastructure or telecommunications facilities to espionage and searching for personal data. Responding to phishing attacks is an important component of building a protection system and involves the joint and coordinated work of government agencies and providers.

At the request of the National Security Council of Ukraine at the beginning of 2023, a filtering system for phishing domains was created as part of the National Domain Name Service. The system implemented under this objection obliges providers to automatically block sources that distribute phishing emails. The decision drew criticism from providers who expressed their reservations about the possible use of the system for Internet censorship. The developers of the system, on the other hand, believe that such a solution will help more effectively prevent espionage by Russian special services, while the system includes public and public control mechanisms.
