After a sabbatical year, HP is renewing its Chromebox this year. Now the mini PC running on ChromeOS is equipped with 13th generation Intel chips. According to AboutChromebooks, the manufacturer makes five CPU options available:
Traditionally only a few configurations are offered in the Benelux. What that will be is currently unknown.
It is noticeable that HP opts for the slower DDR4 RAM instead of DDR5. Available capacities are 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. Storage ranges from 64GB eMMC to a 256GB NVMe SSD.
The compact Chromebox supports up to three 4K monitors, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth and a gigabit internet connection. Other connections: 4x USB-A, headphones, microSD, 1x USB-C and 2x HDMI. You can use a bracket to attach the small box to the back of a monitor as an “all-in-one” solution.
So that you can use the HP Chromebox Enterprise G4 without hesitation until 2030, Google provides software updates for seven years. HP is the first manufacturer to equip a Chromebox with the latest generation of Intel chips. The manufacturer does not give a recommended retail price for the time being. Availability begins in July in the US.
