Apple began to release to the public, starting this Friday (19), iOS 16.5. After several months of beta testing The update brings several new features for iOS users. These include changes to Apple News, new Pride wallpapers, and bug fixes to improve the overall experience for people.

Version 16.5 of the operating system is likely to be the last iOS 16 update before WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) in June. During the event, Apple should officially unveil iOS 17 and begin the first beta tests of the company’s new OS. Below you can see all the iOS 16.5 news.

What’s new in iOS 16.5?

  • New Pride Celebration wallpaper for the lock screen in honor of the LGBTQIA+ community;
  • The Sports tab in Apple News has been redesigned to offer easier access to news, results, and rankings for the teams and leagues a user follows;
  • My Sports Scorecards in Apple News redirects the user directly to game pages, improving device usability and integration;
  • Fixed issues found in Spotlight;
  • Fixed an issue in CarPlay that prevented podcast content from playing.
  • Fixed an issue with time settings that caused settings to not sync across devices.



After initial testing, Apple decided to remove the Siri voice assistant tool with a new voice command to start and stop screen recording. The company decided not to implement the novelty in the final version of iOS 16.5 and did not provide additional details about its decision. If you want to enjoy what’s new for iOS, don’t forget to update your device to the latest version. Go to the “Settings” tab, then go to “General” and select the “Update Software” option.
