Although it does not have its own model, Opera is one of the browsers that is responding the fastest to the artificial intelligence boom that we live in these times. As you may remember, when only a few days passed since Microsoft announced the new Bing and Microsoft Edge Copilot, the Norwegian company decided to respond by announcing that it would soon integrate ChatGPT into its sidebar, this happened in mid-February on the 12th to be precise..

A little over a month later, at the end of March, the first integrations of artificial intelligence in the browser arrived, although its scope was (and still is). much more limited than originally expected. With ChatGPT features, Opera lets you summarize the open page, tell you what the main point of said post is, turn it into a tweet, and even a concept meme. ChatSonic integration makes it easy to find related content.

These features are interesting, but of course they are very far from what they “sold” us in February, although it is true that this is the first implementation in a plan the company said goes much further. In other words, it’s only a matter of time, that is, patience, before Opera starts adding new and interesting features and thus tries to catch up with Microsoft Edge, which is currently the most popular browser advanced in the integration of artificial intelligence.

As I said, Opera’s original commitment went much further, and finally there will be a huge step forward in this regard, because according to what we can read on the browser’s official blog, Opera has already started integrating a test version of its sidebar with ChatGPTin an experiment that is currently available via a waiting list to anyone who has created an Opera user account, a free option that we can manage from the same browser.

An experiment, as it is called at least for now Ariawill be accessible in this first phase for Opera One usersthe complete browser redesign project we told you about a month ago and also for the beta version of Opera for Android. According to the company, users who meet these requirements (have a user account and use one of the two versions of the browser) will soon receive a message confirming that they are already part of the whitelist and can therefore start testing Aria.
