China plans to launch the Shenzhou 16 manned spacecraft into Earth orbit on Tuesday (May 30th) from Jiuquan Cosmodrome in the north of the country.

This was reported by the Chinese State Administration of Manned Cosmonautics (CMSA), Ukrinform reported, referring to Xinhua.

The spacecraft and the Long March-2F launch vehicle that will take it into space successfully passed the control of all systems and units and their functioning before the launch during the computer simulation of the launch.

The ship’s crew of three taikonauts is already in the spaceport. It consists of two Chinese Air Force officers, Commanders Jing Haipeng and Zhu Yangzhu, and Gui Haichao, a first-time civilian expert.

Shenzhou 16 will be the first crewed flight since China’s Tiangong space station became fully operational, as well as the second flight of China’s manned space program this year.

The Shenzhou 16 crew will work in orbit for about six months.

The astronauts of the Shenzhou 15 mission, who have been in space since November 29 last year, will return to Earth.

As reported by Ukrinform, South Korea launched cosmic Nuri rocket with 8 satellites on board.
