Adding to this is that DeSantis said, announcing his presidential aspirations, that if elected, he would declare a “state of emergency in the country on the border.”

These claims have also been rejected. President Andres Manuel López Obrador, who asked the Hispanic community not to vote for DeSantis in the next U.S. presidential election.
