Salesforce is adding more AI to the platform with Marketing GPT and Commerce GPT

Salesforce Einstein GPT

Salesforce introduces Marketing GPT and Commerce GPT. These solutions build on the existing generative AI in the Salesforce platform.

At its Connections event, Salesforce is introducing two new flavors of generative AI within its own platform. Marketing Cloud gets Marketing GPT and Commerce Cloud gets Commerce GPT. Both applications are based on Einstein GPT, which Salesforce introduced in March. You use the Salesforce Data Cloud, in which all internal data from Salesforce solutions converge, which may be enriched with external data.

Marketing GPT

Marketing-GPT is aimed at marketers and aims to help them create personalized content at scale with little effort. For this purpose, the AI ​​looks at historical campaigns and their results, taking into account important target groups. Salesforce highlights five key marketing GPT capabilities:

  • segment creation: Marketing GPT can use the data in the data cloud to compile target group segments that marketers can target.
  • Creation of email content: AI can generate email content and subject lines tailored to different audiences, making marketing emails more personal.
  • Higher ROI: Segment Intelligence for Data Cloud connects data from your business, revenue and metadata from external parties such as advertisers, providing a clear view of engagement.
  • Fast identity management: Marketing AI can quickly match customers with the right identity and update audience segments.
  • Tailored Content: The AI ​​provides content for campaigns based on your company’s visual style and voice.

Like Einstein GPT, Marketing GPT mainly makes suggestions. They help marketers to reach the right target group quickly and in a personalized way. It remains the marketer’s job to collect and process the suggestions.

Commerce GPT

Commerce GPT is more focused on merchants. Here the AI ​​helps you to achieve goals, fill the web shop and have conversations with customers. Salesforce points out three important functionalities:

  • Targeted action: This AI tool allows you to set sales goals and then suggest actions to help you achieve your goals.
  • Dynamic product descriptions: Commerce AI can generate product descriptions tailored to different customer types and in different languages.
  • Trade Concierge: This is a bot that can communicate with customers in natural language and help them discover products.

With a demo, we see the new AI skills at work. Salesforce shows how Commerce AI automatically describes a list of 50 products in multiple languages.

Then we see Marketing AI compose a full email to support a product launch. This email matches the style of the company visually. A marketer can use natural language to make the content more factual or enthusiastic, for example. The AI ​​also makes suggestions for the subject of the email. Choosing one is an option, as is running A/B tests.

Availability

Salesforce will gradually roll out the various marketing AI and commerce AI capabilities. Segment creation and identity resolution with AI will be in preview this summer and generally available in October. You can try email content creation starting in October, but it won’t be available across the board until February 2024. This also applies to the Commerce Concierge and targeted measures. Segment Intelligence will be generally available in October and Dynamic Product Descriptions is finally on the agenda in July.
