Google Cloud is now making several generative AI tools widely available on Vertex AI.
A month after Google unveiled a suite of generative AI tools at its own I/O developer fair, they are now generally available in Vertex AI.
Vertex AI is a collection of cloud services that companies use to develop machine learning models. For this purpose, the system has management functions for data training of neural networks. When such a model is ready, developers can use Vertex AI to monitor technical issues.
Model Garden is one of the services that are now available. The system offers access to more than 60 AI models via Google Cloud, for example to generate text or images and to debug code.
Some of these models were developed by Google, others are available through open source. According to Google, a subset of these models can be customized to meet users’ specific needs.
A key feature of Model Garden is PaLM, Vertex AI’s interface for programming applications. This large language model not only generates texts in different languages, but can also handle mental exercises such as puzzles.
In addition, Model Garden provides access to the Codey AI system, a large language model designed specifically for programming. According to Google, Codey can suggest additional lines of code if only a small part is available for the system to analyze. It also includes a chatbot that generates code, debugs existing programs, and explains programming.
Alongside Model Garden, Google is also rolling out Generative AI Studio, a tool that will allow developers to more smoothly leverage the tech giant’s neural networks. For example, it allows you to adjust the weights of some neural networks in Google Cloud. This increases the quality of the results that a model delivers.
According to Google, developers can also use Generative AI Studio to test what responses a model gives to specific prompts. This helps to estimate which model is most suitable for a specific project.
This launch is the second Google Cloud innovation following the Cross-Cloud Interconnect news.
