Four months after the original model ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro It turned out to be a more powerful variant than the original, as it is a portable console that includes an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor, an 8.4-inch display, up to 64 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, up to 4 TB of data storage in PCIe 4 NVMe SSD format, and whose control the elements are removable similar to the Nintendo Switch.

In short, ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro is a true beast that aims to take the x86-based portable console experience further, which has become fashionable as a result of Valve’s Steam Deck. However, it remains to be seen whether much of the performance offered by the recently announced device will have to be reduced to obtain sufficient autonomy in portable mode.

As for the features of the ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro, the first thing we find is the aforementioned processor AMD Ryzen 7 7840U, which is an APU with integrated graphics and is capable of running at a maximum speed of 5.1 GHz. It has eight cores based on the Zen 4 architecture delivers a total of sixteen threads (two threads per core). Integrated graphics is, for its part, a Radeon 780M with twelve computing units and based on the RDNA 3 architecture.

Portable console screen, of 8.4 inchessupports 118% of the sRGB color spectrum and native resolution 2560 x 1600 pixels, which is better not only than the Steam Deck, which is more focused on saving resources, but also the maximally used ASUS ROG ALLY. Level touch capabilities support an optional pen or stylus with 4,096 levels of sensitivity. If we combine the latter with the ability to disassemble the control, we find that the ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro can be used as a Windows tablet, and he even showed a small detachable keyboard.

A maximum of 4TB of storage for data and, above all, a maximum of 64GB of RAM They indicate that the manufacturer’s intention is to launch an off-road device rather than a portable console itself, especially if we see touch-level options and a detachable keyboard, which we assume will be sold separately. On the other hand, and more so on x86, it is very likely that the quality and graphics load of games will have to be reduced to have autonomy in portable mode.

ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro includes a 65.5Wh battery, a USB 4.0 Type-C connector, a USB 3.0 Type-A connector, a microSD expansion slot, a USB 3.1 Type-C connector at the bottom, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microphone and is accompanied by a 100W gallium nitride charger via USB Type-C with fast charging. It is also hoped to feature Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, but the connectivity versions and manufacturers have not yet been detailed. The operating system present by default will Windows 11.

The release date and base price are not yet known. In fact, the manufacturer is not even showing the standard version of the console, but a limited edition called ONEXPLAYER 2 PRO EVA with references to the anime (since it is in color) Evangelion.
