The Life Made to Order concept reaffirms Samsung’s commitment to transforming users’ lives through sustainability, connectivity and design.
Samsung Electronics is opening a new chapter in home appliances at Bespoke Life 2023, the third annual showcase of the latest updates to its Bespoke range. The event showcased how the expanded vision of Bespoke Life is changing the lives of users through sustainability, connectivity and design.
“Bespoke Life epitomizes Samsung’s commitment to making our homes and our future more sustainable by reinventing the appliances we rely on every day. Offering users new and creative ways to personalize their lives, our latest products and solutions enable everyone to live a more sustainable, connected and stylish lifestyle,” said Jong-Hee (JH) Khan, Vice President, Chief Executive Officer and Director, DX (Device) Division eXperience) by Samsung Electronics.
Sustainable living: technologies making a positive impact
Samsung’s Bespoke Life concept was born from the belief that home appliances are the key to creating a greener future. Consequently, the Bespoke event highlighted Samsung’s efforts to further reduce carbon emissions throughout the product’s lifecycle. The company also announced a new Less Microfiber™ filter: a simple solution to minimize microplastic emissions during wash cycles.
From sourcing and manufacturing to distribution, use and recycling, Samsung rethinks every stage of a product’s life cycle to help reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Some examples of the company’s efforts to recycle more resources are the operation of a closed-loop recycling center, the incorporation of bioplastics from waste oils into the storage baskets of custom-made refrigerators, and the expansion of the use of processed fish. Once the products are made, they are shipped to users in Samsung’s sustainable packaging, which began replacing plastic tape and rolls with paper earlier this year.
To encourage greener lifestyles during the product use phase, Samsung continues to expand services that make it easy to save energy. That’s why five new Bespoke appliances, including refrigerators, washer/dryers, dishwashers and air conditioners, and Samsung’s eco-heating system, will feature an updated version of AI Energy Mode SmartThings, soon available in 65 countries.
In addition to helping reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption, Samsung continues to play an active role in the fight against microplastic pollution. After developing a wash cycle that reduces microfiber consumption by 54%, Samsung and Patagonia have teamed up again to launch the Less Microfiber™ filter. The Less Microfiber™ filter can capture up to 98% of microfibers that fall out during washing. When used to wash two kilograms of laundry four times a week, the filter can help reduce microplastic emissions by up to 132 grams per person per year, the equivalent of about eight 500ml plastic bottles. The Less Microfiber™ filter is now available in Korea and the UK, and will roll out to other countries in the third quarter of this year.
Connected Life: Paving the way for hyperconnected homes
Bespoke One optimizes devices to make your daily life easier and better. By strengthening connectivity across the line and expanding AI to more product categories, Samsung is paving the way for a new era of hyper-connected homes.
Combining the latest Samsung SmartThings enhancements and AI technology, Bespoke products provide a seamless automated home experience where devices learn user usage patterns and provide personalized automation based on your home settings, smart and lifestyle. To make it easier for consumers to enjoy these features, Samsung has announced that it will integrate Wi-Fi support into all new Bespoke devices and will make connectivity a standard across all Samsung device lines in the coming years.
Samsung also announced the launch of the Bespoke Jet™ AI, the company’s most powerful cordless vacuum cleaner and the world’s first UL (Underwriters Laboratories) Solutions validated device for AI. Combining up to 280W of suction power and up to 100 minutes of runtime on a single charge, the Bespoke Jet™ AI delivers the performance you need to thoroughly clean your entire home. AI Cleaning Mode intelligently monitors brush load and air intake pressure to distinguish between different cleaning conditions, including floor type, and automatically optimizes parameters such as suction power and brush speed to maximize cleaning efficiency, cleaning performance, usage time and maneuverability. The vacuum cleaner also features the new All-in-One Clean Station™, which creates a powerful rotating cyclone for instant cleaning and efficient dustbin emptying.
Stylish living: moving to a new level of individual design
The three million Bespoke refrigerators that have been sold worldwide since the launch of the range highlight the huge consumer interest in home appliances that offer more choice and functionality than previous standards. Today, this rethinking of what home appliances should offer consumers continues to define individual design, an approach to design that becomes more dynamic and clearer each time it expands into a new product category.
Starting this year, the Bespoke line includes a total of 15 product categories available to consumers in 52 countries. Each expansion of the range provides an opportunity to meet more lifestyles and needs. With this in mind, Samsung is expanding its Bespoke refrigerator range with the launch of the Bespoke 4-Door Flex™ with Family Hub™+, as well as new side and top mount models. The bespoke 4-Door Flex™ with Family Hub™+ features a 32-inch borderless touchscreen that’s nearly twice the size of its predecessor and includes even more convenient and fun multitasking features. The new horizontal and top mount models combine some of Samsung’s most advanced storage technology with sleek, minimalist fronts available in a variety of colors and finishes.
In addition to launching the Bespoke AITM washer and dryer in the US and Southeast Asia this year, Samsung continues to expand its personalization capabilities so more people can personalize their home. Available since last year to all consumers in the US, Samsung’s MyBespoke personalization service makes it easy for users to create a kitchen look that truly reflects their lifestyle, using photos or illustrations to create unique refrigerator panels. Continuing the spirit of bold Bespoke design, the company announced that the limited edition Bespoke panels, designed by Italian creative studio TOILETPAPER and first shown at Fuorisalone 2023, are now available for purchase on Samsung.com and can also be found at Samsung flagship stores in the UK. , USA and Korea.
