Over the last few weeks, we told you about the inclusion of message editing feature in the app and even some functionality related to video calls and them. WhatsApp channels have just joined.
In fact, WhatsApp itself uses this new functionality very similar to Telegram or Messenger channels and is highly get information from different environments so we are always updated.
WhatsApp channels finally come true
While at first all leaks indicated that this innovation will eventually be called newsletters, WhatsApp has finally made the channels official, but unfortunately we will have to be a little patient since. they will only be available in Colombia and Singapore for now.
Their global distribution will be in stages, so it shouldn’t take too long to be able to use them in Spain and view them under the app menu. A new section called “News”It will replace one of the states we have had so far.
These will be placed at the top of this news menu in a format quite similar to those found in other apps like Instagram, so they will have a fairly familiar design for most users who use the app.
As for channels, anyone will be able to create them with complete freedom to choose as public or private channels. Message history will stay as it is for one month and even the administrator will be able to choose whether other users can forward messages or take screenshots of the content.
We will also be allowed to post on these channels. texts, photos, videos, stickers and polls Yes, but they are not end-to-end encrypted chats like other parts of the app. Luckily, the number of the creator and followers of the channel will not be public, so our privacy is heavily guarded on this side, as in Telegram.
So now we can only wait for WhatsApp to decide to roll out this new feature in other regions, it shouldn’t take too long. Once we have it, simply We can search for any available channel from the search engine tab and enjoy it 100%.
