For more than 11 months of the existence of the “Drone Army” project, 3,864 UAV complexes were purchased at the expense of United24. The total amount of concluded contracts is more than 4.3 billion hryvnia.
Deputy Prime Minister for Innovations, Education, Science and Technology Development – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov informed the journalists about this issue, according to the report of Ukrinform.
“UAV is an important project that aims to provide modern, high quality and sufficient number of unmanned aerial vehicles to the army, Security and Defense Forces. We purchased 3,864 UAVs over 4.3 billion hryvnia in 11 months with the funds of United24,” he said.
Fedorov added that the first stage of the project “Drone Army” has been completed. According to the results, the UAV Operator Training Centers trained 10,000 military personnel to operate the “wings” in 10 months. Within the framework of the latter, 10,000 more UAV pilots will undergo vocational training.
As reported, “Drone Army” is a project initiated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Digital Ministry. This is a comprehensive program in which the systematic purchase of drones, their repair and training courses for relevant specialists are planned. The program started on 1 July.
