On June 22, Czech Radio was attacked by a powerful hacker, on the day of the international conference “Media and Ukraine”.
This was reported by Ukrinform.
“Since this morning our radio has been attacked by a hacker. We are trying to solve the problem as soon as possible,” he said.
The radio broadcasts the event on its social networks.
“The current hacker attack is not accidental. This shows the important role that the mass media plays in the current situation, that for some people we are “a thorn in the side” when discussing these issues, said RenĂ© Zavoral, managing director of Czech Radio.
He reminded that the Czech Republic has its own painful past with the Soviet occupation and today it supports Ukraine with all its might.
The guests focused on the role of the mass media in reporting events in Ukraine and the responsibility of journalists and the international community as a whole. The keynote speakers of the conference, held as part of the celebration of the centennial of Czech Radio broadcasting, were President Petr Pavel and Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko (via video link).
