The methodology used in the study to determine which operating system is more intuitive is very interesting: the researchers use data from Google Research to determine the search queries performed by Android and iOS users. Android is more intuitive than iOS

The monthly surveys have been analyzed and tabulated in the graph you can see below. Among the 12 topics surveyed, iOS had more results in 10 of them, while Android received more searches in just 2. Keeping this in mind, the fewer searches on the Google platform, the better the result, as this means that users don’t have to perform searches to perform common tasks. According to the survey, the Android operating system had more search queries on the topics “How to take a photo” and “How to read a QR code”. The iOS operating system, on the other hand, received more requests for “How to record a screen”, “How to block a number”, “How to record a call”, “How to perform a factory reset”. “How to share a location”, “How to implement a voice message”, “How to uninstall an application”, “How to perform a system update”, “How to transfer photos to a computer”, and “How to backup”.

We emphasize that the study was conducted using a database available in the USA, so it doesn’t apply to the global behavior of iOS and Android users. In any case, since the country is one of the territories with the best distribution among iOS users (about 136 million) and Android users (about 144 million), the results have a good chance of reflecting the behavior of other users around the world.
