Although it doesn’t seem like it at first glance, the truth is like that Google keeps working on its search engine, mostly to optimize its operation and sometimes to add new features and tools. It is true that for years and today it is by far the most used search engine on the Internet, but we already know how the technology sector spends with it and how easily and quickly certain changes can be made, so the company is trying to make sure that does not happen.

Most of these changes are usually almost imperceptible. for ordinary users, as they deal with the inner workings of the search engine and try to improve the quality and relevance of the results displayed with each search. And that’s why I say they’re almost imperceptible, because they’re actually reflected in the differences in the results they get, which we can perceive if we use Google a lot and thoroughly check the results of each search.

There are other changes that are obvious, like all of them those related to changes in the user interface. These, while not affecting the quality of the results, tend to affect the usability of the search engine, although in some cases they may also be purely aesthetic. In any case, and unlike operational changes, which are usually just a topic of conversation among network professionals, these changes usually give people something to talk about.

Now, the ones that add a new feature directly to the search engine are undoubtedly the most relevant, which are also the rarest. And as we can read in The Verge, these days we are witnessing one such type, since Google has launched Google Perspectives, a new section of search engine resultsin which users get a result feed whose content based on «based on first-hand experience or created by someone with deep knowledge of the subject«.

As we can see in that post, Google Perspectives results are displayed on a page with a similar layout to Pinterestand among them we find TikTok videos, YouTube videos, websites, tweets, Quora results and Reddit posts, although in the latter case the scope is currently limited due to the problems experienced by this social platform.
